OQmented introduces the HYPERION | Evaluation Kitย
The most compact and efficient 2D MEMS EVK to dateย

Published March 19, 2025

Developed by industry leaders in MEMS-based Laser Beam Scanning solutions,
the HYPERION | Evaluation Kit redefines the boundaries of optical 2D MEMS technology.
This ultra-compact kit combines exceptional power efficiency with high-performance MEMS behavior. At its core is the HYPERION BubbleMEMSยฎ Mirror, featuring a 1.3mm diameter and a flexible optical Field of View ranging from 15ยฐ to 70ยฐ diagonal, with scan frequencies of approx. 35 kHz and 19 kHz (multi-interlaced laser scanning).

Its small size and unmatched efficiency are enabled by UltraDRIVE, our in-house developed electronics system. UltraDRIVE consists of Drive and Sense ASICs, optimized for lead free piezoelectric MEMS mirror architecture with an effective energy recovery feature. The exceptional accurate synchronization signals enable highly precise MEMS applications.

Leveraging Lissajous scanning technology and patented vacuum packaging, the HYPERION | Evaluation Kit delivers best in class efficiency, exceptional robustness, and a flexible Field of View for a wide range of applications. Developed for wearable applications HYPERION supports automatic power up and a flexible voltage supply range (3-5V) for a longer battery lifetime.

One light engine, many opportunities

Published April 30, 2024

Our LBS light engines were developed specifically for Augmented Reality glasses. However, just as Augmented Reality isnโ€™t limited to glasses, our light engines arenโ€™t either, having the potential for ultra low-cost production and scalability: We have advanced our software in such ways that it allows the use of laser beam scanning technology also for other, even entirely different applications by combining multiple light engines. OQmented light engines are pushing the boundaries of what is possible today: We have developed a technique to โ€œstitchโ€ together the projections of an unlimited number of light engines resulting in one seamless projection and enabling more perspectives for the viewer, more natural colors than in state-of-the-art displays and virtually limitless extension for Field of View, frame rate, brightness and resolution, depending on the application.
This way, our light engines can power projections for AR glasses or head up displays and other automotive lighting, but also for large advertising panels. We are very excited to explore these new applications and challenge the limits of physics in all sorts of ways.

Wafer level production for our UltraLITE XRโ„ข laser beam scanning-based light engine

Published March 18, 2024

At OQmented, we are working on a true manufacturing paradigm shift: our next generation light engine will be integrated completely on wafer level. This enables the simultaneous integration of up to 1,000 light engines and involves a significant reduction in the engineโ€™s size as well as in production costs. It has potential to entirely disrupt microdisplay manufacturing.
